The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its industrial action following the intervention of the Federal Government in ia rift with the Dangote Refinery after 800 workers who joined the union were dismissed. At a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, October 1, the President of PENGASSAN, Comrade (Engineer) Festus Osifo, said that the union had suspended the industrial action in good faith as a response to the intervention of the Federal government. PENGASSAN President insisted that though it did not achieve its set objective completely, it decided to accept the agreements contained in the communique, “PENGASAN is suspending the strike in good faith to show that it is not about us but the general good of Nigeria and Nigerians. “We had wanted our 800 sacked members to be reabsorbed in the Dangote Refinery where they were,  but in respect to the government intervention, they will be absorbed and distributed within other s...
