The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund has set to develop a comprehensive security master plan for tertiary institutions nationwide . The Chairman of Board of trustees, TETFund, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari made this known during his remark at the opening ceremony of a 2 days workshop on campus security towards the development of a security master plan for tertiary institutions in Nigeria, held in Abuja.  He outlined the various threats faced by tertiary institutions, including banditry, kidnapping, and cyber intrusions. He  explained that the  master plan aims to enhance threat prevention, detection, and response capabilities. The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced plans to establish fire stations in public universities across Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen fire safety and protect national assets within higher institutions. Since on Saturday, the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) embarked on a total and indefinite nationwide strike over unmet demands. Briefing the press on Monday, November 3, President of the association, Dr Muhammad Suleiman, defended the action of the doctors. He said the strike followed the expiration of a 30-day ultimatum to the Federal Government. Dr Suleiman said the association had exercised patience for too long in the face of government’s inaction. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its industrial action following the intervention of the Federal Government in ia rift with the Dangote Refinery after 800 workers who joined the union were dismissed.
